Introduction to the Online Training Course: Eco-friendly @ Work
Welcome to the “Eco-friendly @ Work” online training course, a key component of the Erasmus+ project titled “Skills for a Greener Future: Adult Literacy for Sustainable Development in the Workspace”—also known as Green Upskills!. This innovative project is spearheaded by the Asociatia Centrul de Excelenta in Educatia Permanenta Romania in collaboration with Asociatia Europeana de Dezvoltare a Adultilor Romania and Cripta Maynarda.
The Green Upskills! Project aims to address the urgent need for reskilling and upskilling in the context of a greener economy. It is designed to empower adult educators, trainers, and workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster sustainable practices within their workplaces and communities. As part of this project, the “Eco-friendly @ Work” training course will guide you through essential topics related to environmental sustainability and help you develop practical strategies to implement green practices effectively.
Course Overview
This course comprises six modules, each focusing on a different aspect of sustainability in the workplace. Here’s what you can expect from each module:
Module 1: Understanding the Climate and Nature Crisis
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the climate and nature crisis, including the science behind climate change and its impacts on biodiversity. This module will provide you with foundational knowledge to grasp the urgency of environmental issues and the importance of proactive measures.
Module 2: What Skills Will Workers Need in the Transition to a Net-Zero, Zero-Waste Economy?
Explore the skills required to thrive in a green economy. This module covers the necessary technical, analytical, and soft skills for adapting to a net-zero and zero-waste environment. Learn about key industries undergoing green transitions and how to prepare for these changes.
Module 3: Work-Related Travel
Understand the significance of sustainable travel and its impact on the environment. This module examines various modes of transportation, their carbon footprints, and strategies for promoting sustainable travel within your organization.
Module 4: Water – How to Use Water in Moderation
Focus on the critical issue of water conservation. This module will teach you techniques for reducing water usage, reusing and recycling water, and implementing best practices for sustainable water management in your workplace.
Module 5: Supporting Nature and Green Spaces in the Workplace
Learn about the benefits of integrating green spaces into workplace environments. This module provides practical tips for creating and maintaining natural spaces at work, enhancing employee well-being, and supporting environmental health.
Module 6: Recycling
Master the principles of effective recycling and waste management. This module covers how to set up and manage a successful recycling program, including sorting, processing, and reusing materials to minimize waste and conserve resources.
